The Scott Islands are five rocky islands off the northwestern tip of Vancouver Island, Canada. Each year between May and October many different populations of migratory seabirds come to breed on the islands from as far as Japan, Chile, Australia and Hawaii. Bird species include endangered Blackfooted Albatrosses and Marbled Murrelets, as well as Thick-billed Murres. The area is also home to Steller sea lions and rockfishes. The islands are a proposed Marine National Wildlife Area. Organizations like the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society have been working to designate the marine area surrounding the Scott Islands as a marine protected area to ensure that the surrounding habitat is fully protected. The Scott Islands were declared a Hope Spot by Mission Blue in 2013.
